Read MoreI realize you will be tired after giving birth and this is a time of recovery, however, you will be so thankful you did this. While I am there, I am aware of these things, and will work quickly to capture all those details, bonds, and interactions with your new little one.
Read MoreWhen parents and their children come to a specific location for a session, it can be a little awkward at first. It takes awhile for everyone to warm up to the situation, and sometimes the kids can be so out of their element that cooperation is the furthest thing from their mind. Which is undoubtedly understandable.
However, when a client invites me into their homes, it is a different world. Everyone is relaxed and within their element. They’re happy and at ease. It is a privilege to be able to witness the authentic connections of a family in their own home.
In home lifestyle newborn photography captures not only the details of a new baby’s toes and fingers and little eyelashes, but it gives parents a chance to document the baby’s first home. Years down the road, when a move or two has happened, or the children have outgrown the style of their room, parents are able to look back and see the very first time they brought their little ones home.
Just look at this family! I arrived early in the afternoon and Logan had just gotten home from preschool. He was relaxed on his parents bed, eating a little snack and watching TV. This new family of four were incredibly relaxed in front of the camera, and I think it helped that we were in their element. I opted to start in the master bedroom since Logan was already there, and it didn’t take long to get this family snuggling and smiling.
It’s obvious how much this little boy loves his parents, and how much they love him! A new baby doesn’t change that. It simply means that there’s more room for more love.
Jessica and Josh were comfortable in front of the camera and not at all afraid to show each other some affection. Having a new baby is a huge milestone in any parent’s life, whether it be the first or second. It’s an incredible and momentous occasion that you will want to have documented!
In home lifestyle newborn sessions can be a little daunting at first, especially letting a stranger into your home. It also raises a ton of a questions from ‘what will we be doing’ to ‘what should I wear’; and those are questions that I take the time to help my clients with. Lifestyle sessions are very intimate moments with gentle caresses and soft expressions. I love helping my families choose something comfortable and beautiful to wear that help them relax.
After spending some time in the master bedroom, I moved Jessica and Sofia to the nursery. The nursery was filled with the most beautiful natural light!
Sofia was such a snuggle bunny! She loved being close to her mamma. Every room was filled with love and family connection.
Just look at this wide eyed bundle of joy! It’s so hard not to fall in love with her!
After some alone time, Josh and Logan rejoined us in the nursery for more family fun.
Josh is such a smitten daddy!
This family is so full of love! The contentedness that radiated off of them is a perfect example of happiness. I am so blessed that they invited me into their home to document these authentic moments in their lives. You never realize how precious these moments are until you are able to look back and see them.
Meet this radiant mamma, Hannah! She is a gorgeous mother of two (soon to be three!) and an absolute perfect example of why mothers-to-be should have a maternity session.
For Hannah, someone who is normally shy in front of the camera, she said she felt comfortable and beautiful! My goal is to document your pregnancy, whether you are a first time mom or already a mother of two little ones waiting at home!
Look at this stunning mamma in this gorgeous dress! I cannot get over how beautiful she is. There is so much love in her face and you can almost see the visions and future she has planned for her family. Maternity sessions show your anticipation of the upcoming birth and new addition to your family. I know most moms hate the way they are looking at about 30-35 weeks, but that is honestly the perfect time for a session. It is the time you are glowing the most and of course it is near the time your baby is just about ready to make an appearance. Also, who doesn’t love a glorious belly?!
For Hannah’s maternity photos, we visited Washington Street in Cumberland, Maryland. It was a beautiful day as we captured these precious moments. Memories are fleeting, and it is hard to go back and take photos of something that happens once in a lifetime. Every pregnancy is different and every child is different. These are the images you will one day share with your children, tapping your perfectly rounded belly and saying, ‘that was you at one point.’ If you’re worried about find a maternity gown, there are affordable dresses on Amazon! Not sure what to where? I would be more than happy to help you Capture it. Document it. Share it.
Emily Kristen was born happy and healthy on September 20th, 2018. She weighed 8 pounds and 9.8 ounces, and was 21 inches long. Austin and Josie, her older siblings, absolutely LOVE their newest little sister and fight over who gets to hold her first. Congrats, mamma!
